Networking & Infrastructure Solutions in Oman

Office WiFi that drops the moment the floor fills up, cabling nobody documented, or a new fit-out where the network was an afterthought? Lyqa Tech Ventures designs, supplies, installs, tests and maintains structured cabling and enterprise network infrastructure for buildings across Oman – from a single-office LAN in Muscat to a multi-site network spanning several cities.

We are an Omani-owned technology company registered as an SME, working across Muscat, Sohar, Salalah and Duqm. You get one engineering team accountable for the design, the cabling, the installation, the commissioning and the maintenance that keeps the network running.

When your network needs to meet the right standard

The authority is the TRA

Network cabling in Oman isn't just a technical choice – it sits under a regulatory framework. The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), established under Royal Decree 30/2002, regulates the telecommunications sector in Oman, including the internal wiring standards that buildings are expected to follow and the type-approval regime that telecom and networking equipment must clear before it can be used.

The wiring guidelines that apply to your building

The TRA has actively promoted quality internal wiring standards, after identifying poor internal cabling as a leading cause of connectivity complaints across the Sultanate. What applies depends on the building type:

Single-storey residential – Category 6 (CAT-6) or higher copper cabling from the main distribution box to every communication socket, with a dedicated cable run for each WiFi access point.

Multi-storey buildings – a main distribution box on the ground floor, connected to per-floor distribution boxes via ascending cable channels.

Larger and commercial buildings – a dedicated communications room and distribution boxes per unit, connected through structured cabling ducts rather than ad-hoc runs.

Larger developments – a central telecom room at the site core, linked to the boundary via dedicated conduits, with fiber optic cabling extending to individual units for high-speed service.

Two things follow from this that catch owners and fit-out teams out:

Cabling pathways need to be planned before fit-out, not squeezed in afterward. Once ceilings, walls and floors are finished, adding a dedicated communications room or proper containment becomes disruptive and expensive.

The networking equipment itself needs to be compliant. Routers, access points and other radio-transmitting network devices generally require TRA type approval before import or use in Oman – a step that's easy to miss when equipment is sourced informally.

Where projects usually fail

In our experience the problem is rarely the switch or the access point itself. It's the things nobody planned for: cable runs pulled without a schedule or labelling, WiFi access points bolted up without a proper site survey, no spare capacity left for the next hire or the next department, a "temporary" cabling job that became permanent, or equipment that stalls a project because it was never TRA type-approved.

we deliver and maintain

Structured Cabling & Fiber Optic Installation

Certified copper and fiber cabling for new fit-outs, office relocations, and warehouse or retail environments, installed with proper containment, labelling and as-built documentation, not run wherever is convenient on the day.

LAN/WAN & Enterprise Network Design

Local and wide-area network design, VLAN configuration, and enterprise-grade switches and routers sized to your actual device count and traffic, not to a generic template.

Enterprise WiFi Deployment

Site-surveyed wireless coverage that accounts for building materials, floor layout and device density, so coverage doesn't collapse the moment the office or floor fills up.

Network Security & Firewall Configuration

Firewall setup, network segmentation and access controls at the point where your network meets the outside world, reducing the surface an attacker can reach.

Special-case networking we handle

Not every environment suits a standard office cabling plan:

Industrial and warehouse networking – ruggedized cabling and industrial-rated switches for high-bay racking, dust exposure and forklift traffic.

Server rooms and data halls – structured cable management, redundant paths and layouts that respect cooling airflow.

Multi-tenant buildings – landlord and tenant network architecture that keeps each occupier's traffic properly segregated.

Campus and outdoor links – fiber backbone connections between buildings on the same site.

Legacy building retrofits – surface containment and phased works that add proper cabling without gutting a finished, occupied space.

How a Lyqa Tech network project runs

Site survey and requirements review

We walk the building, record device counts, existing infrastructure, and growth plans, and identify what the space actually needs.

Design and specification

cable schedule, network topology, VLAN plan, and bill of materials matched to your building and budget.

Procurement and compliance check

equipment sourced and checked against TRA type-approval requirements before it's ordered.

Installation

first fix (containment and cabling) and second fix (switches, access points, terminations), sequenced around your operations.

Testing, documentation and handover

every cable and link tested and recorded, as-built drawings and network documentation handed over, not a black box only we understand.

Maintenance

a scheduled AMC that keeps the network monitored, supported and ready to expand.

What drives the cost of a network project in Oman

We don't publish fixed prices, because a real number depends on your building. These are the variables that actually move it:

Size of the space and number of cable runs required.

Number of users, devices and access points needed.

Number of users, devices and access points needed.

Copper vs. fiber requirements, and how much backbone distance is involved.

Whether firewall and security configuration is included.

New installation versus upgrading or retrofitting existing infrastructure.

Ongoing monitoring or AMC support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with existing network infrastructure, or only new installations?

Both. We regularly extend and upgrade existing cabling and networks rather than requiring a full rebuild.

Yes – we design multi-site and SD-WAN connectivity for organizations operating in more than one city.

We check equipment against TRA type-approval requirements as part of procurement, so compliance isn’t something you have to chase separately.

Yes, through Annual Maintenance Contracts covering monitoring, troubleshooting and future expansion.

Firewall and segmentation can be included at setup or added afterward – we’ll scope it based on your risk profile during the site survey.

It depends on floor area and the number of cable runs – a site survey gives an accurate timeline before work begins.
